This extension displays the address books in a sidebar in the 3-pane-window and can be toggled with the F4 key or a toolbar button.Check the pre-release section of my homepage (link at the bottom of this page) if you are looking for a Thunderbird 2.0 beta compatible version of the Contacts Sidebar.
